Cata began her career as a makeup artist and hair stylist in 2009.
Whilst studying fashion and social makeup at the Pigmento Makeup Academy in Santiago, Chile, she realised it was her passion, and after the course she decided to move to London to follow her dream of becoming a professional makeup artist.
She lived in London for 3 years, where she studied and worked as a freelance makeup artist and hair stylist. In 2010 she obtained her degree at the prestigious Christine Blundell Makeup Academy, where she gained an in-depth knowledge of makeup and hairstyling for films (including SFX, period, casualty and prosthetics), HD TV, theatre and fashion. After completing the course she began working in many independent British films such as “Svengali” and “The Warehouse”, amongst others, as well as a major international movie, including 3 months at Pinewood Studios working on the famous Disney saga “Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”. She also worked in advertising, fashion and editorial (including Shön! Magazine and Stamp Magazine).
During her time in London, Cata had the amazing opportunity to assist some fantastic senior makeup artists and hair stylists, who taught her more that she could ever imagine.
In 2012, before returning to Chile, she studied “Facials and Skincare” at The London School of Beauty & Makeup, as she knew the importance of this field in her career. The knowledge she gained here perfectly complements her makeup skills and has proved to be invaluable.
Now based in her home country of Chile again, Cata continues to work as a full-time makeup artist and hair stylist in a variety of areas such as advertising (TV commercials and services for many different countries), fashion, editorial and bridal.
She loves what she does more than anything, and deeply believes that with passion, perseverance, love and respect for the people she works with and for, anything is possible.
Cata empezó su carrera como maquilladora y estilista de pelo profesional en el año 2009.
El primer curso que tomó fue en Santiago, Chile, en la academia Pigmento Make-up School donde estudió maquillaje social y de modas. Fue en ese momento donde se dio cuenta que el maquillaje era su pasión. Por eso decidió irse a Inglaterra a especializarse y profundizar mucho más.
Vivió en Londres por tres años donde estudió y trabajó como maquilladora y estilista de pelo freelance. Obtuvo su título en la prestigiosa academia Christine Blundell Make-up Academy en el año 2010, donde aprendió todo sobre el maquillaje y pelo para cine (efectos especiales, caracterización, prótesis), televisión digital, teatro y moda. Una vez graduada, trabajó en diferentes películas británicas independientes como “Svengali” y “The Warehouse”, entre otras, e incluso fue parte del departamento de maquillaje de la cuarta saga de Disney “Piratas del Caribe: En Mareas Misteriosas”.
Durante sus años en Londres también trabajó en publicidad, moda y editorial (revista Shön!, revista Stamp), y tuvo la gran oportunidad de asistir a maquilladores y estilistas de pelo de trayectoria, los cuales le enseñaron y transmitieron valiosas herramientas, valores y conocimientos sobre el mundo del maquillaje y del peinado, elementos que trajo consigo a Chile y que emplea cada día.
En el año 2012, antes de volver a Chile, Cata decidió tomar un curso de cosmetología llamado “Faciales y el Cuidado de la Piel” en The London School of Beauty & Make-up, ya que siempre ha sabido la importancia que tiene esta área en su trabajo.
Ahora de vuelta en Chile, Cata continúa trabajando como maquilladora y estilista de pelo a tiempo completo en publicidad (comerciales y servicios para diferentes países del extranjero), moda, editorial, campañas y novias.
